Kevin
came to Sonoma County in 2001 when he joined the
men’s basketball team at Sonoma State University.
At SSU he was a four year performer for the Seawolves,
including his senior year in which he was an all-conference
selection and led the men’s basketball program
to their only CCAA conference title in school history.
Kevin was voted the most inspirational player every
year he was a member of the men’s basketball
team at SSU and he was honored at the completion
of his playing career with the renaming of the award
as the “Kevin Christensen Most Inspirational
Player Award.” He is also the only Sonoma State
University athlete to win the Athletic Department’s
Most Inspirational Athlete award twice. In 2005-06
Kevin was the CCAA sportsmanship award winner and
an NCAA sportsmanship award finalist. In 2003 and
2006 Kevin was a member of Sonoma State squads that
advanced to the NCAA tournament. Following his career
at Sonoma State he took his game to Vienna, Austria
where he spent a season playing professionally in
the OEBL (Austrian Basketball League).
Upon returning to Sonoma County from overseas Kevin
accepted a position as an assistant coach at Sonoma
State University under Head Men’s Basketball
Coach Pat Fuscaldo. While an assistant he helped
with on the court coaching, player skill development,
recruiting, and academic progress. While at Sonoma
State Kevin played with and coached SSU’s all-time
leading scorer and rebounder J.T. Tipton, SSU’s
all-time career three-point leader Andrew Kochevar,
and SSU Men’s Basketball’s only All-American
Vince Inglima. During his two years on staff Kevin
was also extensively involved with advancing youth
basketball in Sonoma County. He was Co-Director of
youth and high school basketball camps and ran various
clinics helping to increase skills and knowledge
of the game to players from all over the county.
Kevin also has international experience as well as
he has helped run basketball camps in Europe and
Australia.
Currently Kevin is the Assistant Athletic Director
and Head Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball Coach
at Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa, CA. Since arriving
at Sonoma
Academy in 2008 Kevin has helped take the girls basketball
program to new heights. In 2008 the girls won their
first ever league championship as well as their first
ever North Coast Section Championship. Last season
Kevin guided the team to their fourth consecutive
winning season and their first ever berth in the
Northern California Championships.
In November of 2011 Kevin published a book called "Bench
Rules: A Guide to Succes On and Off the Bench." Bench
Rules uses the story of Kevin's collegiate playing
career to teach players how to be an effective player,
teammate and person, whether they play every minute
of the game or rarely step on the court in game situations.
The book has been praised by different high school
and college coaches throughout the country because
of its ability to cover a subject that is crucial
to the success of a team and often overlooked by
players, coaches and fans. More information on the
book can be found at Facebook.com/benchrules or going
to Amazon.com: Click Here

| What
makes 1% CLUB Training Program different? |
| The
answer is very simple. Our progressive,
age-appropriate, challenging curriculum, mixed
with our functional training aids. Jeremy
Russotti is the inventor of some of the top training
aids used throughout the NBA/NCAA to CYO programs. This
includes the J-Glove Shooting Aid, V-Bands (Velocity
Bands), and O-Bands (resistive bands). Also,
our K-2nd Grade Classes use lowered, age-appropriate
8-foot hoops for shooting. Therefore, your
son and daughter will be training with the
same equipment used with his professional athletes
in his "Green Room Training Program". To
purchase these training aids, click
here. |
